Suggested list for success in the Art Room!
Remember these are NOT required but HIGHLY encouraged for many reasons:

Ownership of the materials
Additional enhancements it can bring to the artwork
Continued work at home for independent studies

List:
Set of charcoal pencils
12-24 #2 pencils
Drawing Pencils Number 6B, 4B, 2B, B, 2H, 4H  (or basic drawing or shading pencil set)
A hand-held pencil sharpener specifically for drawing pencils
1 9x12 or larger Sketchbook spiral or hardback  are the best
1 White vinyl eraser 
1 kneadable eraser
Set of gel or ball point pens
1-5 ultra-fine point black Sharpies and one regular black sharpie
A bag/box to hold supplies (can be as simple as a Ziploc bag or as fancy as a pencil case.)
