The goal of Interpretation writing activities are for students to explore and form opinions based on visual evidence in order to explain the possible motives or meanings behind artworks. Students should look for tone (serious, playful, etc..) and/or placement of subjects/objects/symbols.
Because these are Interpretation activities - students should write in paragraph form answering 2 questions within the paragraph; what is in the actual picture (possible location, what is it made of, colors used, etc..) and in your opinion - what is the artist trying to say (use visual evidence to support your opinion!).
