Instructional page to help students create, update, & maintain their artworks

Student Portfolio Pages

Objective: Students will create a Weebly, Wix, or Google Site to continually update their artwork, post their artwork, critique in blog format, and finalize for this class

Benefits: Students can keep and maintain these sites and use it as a part of their submission for colleges and future jobs.


Students have their choice of Weebly, Wix, or Google Sites, (use the tutorials below to answer any questions or guide you throughout the process);

*SPELL CHECK - not once, twice, but THREE times (this is published on the internet folks!)

Each student page will have:
  1. a HOME page: this page welcomes the visitor with
    1. Description of the site, an overview - paragraph about the use of the personal portfolio (what class, what year, -LOOK AT THE OBJECTIVE)
    2. Describe yourself - hobbies, interests, art interests (paint, photography, etc..), short biography
    3. Contact info - social media (optional) and email (optional)
    4. Personal photos (optional)
  2. a PORTFOLIO page
    1. This will be updated with each completed project
      1. Each submitted photo of the COMPLETED project(s) will have:
        1. a description (title, year completed, medium used - pencil, paint, etc..) caption if possible
        2. 3 photos to be included with the finished project
          1. Your initial sketch from the sketch WITH [effective] "Collaboration" notes included
          2. 2 photos of you actually working IN PROGRESS - you can be snapped in the photo if desired
          3. 3 in-progress project [high-quality] photos​
  3. a CRITIQUE page
    1. After each project, students will write about their projects using their "Communication" sheets
      1. It should be a paragraph with the criteria needed to discuss the project:
        1. Materials and steps/procedure(s) to finish the project
        2. What you gained from student input before project process?
        3. What could be changed?
        4. What Art Element or Design Principle was learned in the project?
          1. 7 Art Elements: Color, Line, Value, Texture, Shape, Space, Form
          2. 7 Design Principles: Balance, Contrast, Emphasis, Movement, Pattern, Rhythm, & Unity/Variety
    2. TIP! Use Google Chrome browser under the "tools":
      1. Use the voice typing feature to "speak" about your reflections!
    3. TIP! Use QR Codes to allows viewers to hear your reflections instead of typing!
    4. TIP! Embed a youtube video of you speaking about your artwork!
    5. Use the app GRADEPROOF to copy/paste your paragraphs for free editing and suggestions!

FINAL EXAM PORTFOLIO CHECKLIST RUBRIC
15 points:  Creative and structured HOME page
15 points:  PORTFOLIO Page has both finished and in progress photos
50 points:  CRITIQUE Page has paragraphs for EACH completed project
20 points:  Lack of spelling errors, professional look, and easy to navigate
